The features of the MOBO are true to the advertising. The built in wifi works reliably great, and the onboard sound card is on par with some of the more expensive dedicated ones you can find on the market to this day. A great buy for a gaming rig.
I would buy this brand again, based on the long life and driver support.
Call their support up. They had me going through troubleshoot for many days and at the end, they told me to send it back to them via UPS or Fedex. I sent it and got it back about a week and a half later. I didn't put the board in because I had no time to do that. I been using my old board which is MSI BigBang XPower II. Now I just thought I need to change because I am cleaning everything. Guess what? The board is doing the same thing!
The board and design is amazing but they fail! I trusted Asus for many years now. But for the past 2 years, I been having failed boards left and right. My previous board before going with socket 2011 was Asus socket 1366. That failed on me and sent out for repairs and still didn't work. Tired of waiting and got the exact same board and failed again.
Be sure to buy only memory recommended on the ASUS web site (and in the User's Guide).
My one (minor) complaint: the interface for USB 3 for the case front panel has to be purchased separately.
UPDATE.
Had to drop it from 5-stars to 3-stars because two of the memory slots were DOA: disappointing
The only reason I give FOUR stars is because ASUS made the bad choice between engineering and fulfillment to sell this awesome, top drawer, top dollar MB that is stuffed with accessories and parts, WITHOUT SEALING THE BOX!
I bought THREE of these MB just to confirm the distributors weren't jerking me around selling me an "open box" item.
Background: I had a manufacturing company in China with 10,000 people working for me at one point, between 1996 and 2003. I know every aspect of concept to market, and it is insane for a company like ASUS to jeopardize the integrity of their products, their inspectors, their distributors; their warranty control; and their customers by failing to put a couple 2 cent permanent seals over the packaging tabs so everyone knows it is unopened since the factory.
I had to argue with two of the three distributors I bought from, who as middlemen, couldn't grasp the risk they were exposed to, and passing that "trust me" mentality on to the consumer. That's why distributors have a separate category of discount pricing called "open box" returns.
My final selection -- as with the other two, which were returned -- was complete. Everything so far is working fine, after some bugs with boot up was fixed by updating to the "0701" BIOS. But be forewarned: there's no way to be sure your toy hasn't been opened. So pick a reliable, established distributor, and get email confirmation from them BEFORE you buy, that it has NOT been opened or previously sold and returned. Because there's no simple way to be sure.
