ASUS delivers. I bought this and installed it in 2014. So this is a review with 2 years of usage behind it. This thing has not failed me once. It is the perfect MOBO for your monster gaming rig. I put an i7-4930k, 980 GTX, 16GB DDR3 1866 RAM, 1TB Samsung SSD, and top-of-the-line Noctua premium cooling fans. That's right - all air cooled. My CPU rarely goes over 40c, even when I'm multitasking while gaming. It actually takes a hot day in the middle of the summer's worst heat waves to push my case temps to 40c+. Now, that's obviously mostly the fans and the case, as well as user upkeep, but the MOBO definitely helps keeping CPU and GPU temps down.

The features of the MOBO are true to the advertising. The built in wifi works reliably great, and the onboard sound card is on par with some of the more expensive dedicated ones you can find on the market to this day. A great buy for a gaming rig.

So Far is awesome, Tips for those like me that are not buying any DVD reader or CD reader or any reader, after you install you OS go to ASUS and download all the drivers for the motherboard, I have the Intel Core I7 and I didn't need to install the new BIOS because it was already upgrated but if you need you can also do it there in ASUS, the Drivers are more for the Bluetooth, sonar, sound integrated card, etc, I have not installed mines yet jaja even though I can see devices with my bluetooth and will pass files super fast, the wifi go is magnetic ! I didn't know I could put it in the metal part of the case and it looks so natural ! , also do not try to bend the wifi go hardware, you have to twist it , if you try to bend it you may break it. The OC console is really cool, but I have not tried to overclock, so far I have not needed to, it goes so fast that I was surprised at the beginning, also they don't tell you that it has a red string on the motherboard that you don't see until you plug your Power Supply, it will look better in a transparent case or in a case that has a window, I don't have one of those, but my case is pretty cool so I don't mind jaja and Remember it DOES NOT have an integrated graphics card, when I was done of putting all together I went to put the HDMI cable and it comes up that I needed a graphics card... yeah ... jajaj And I think that is pretty much it if any questions ask me !

This has been the mainboard of my gaming computer for 5 YEARS. No problems. Asus has been very good about keeping the drivers compatible with the latest version of Windows (currently at 1903). This is a big problem for other major manufacturers, which rarely update their drivers.
I would buy this brand again, based on the long life and driver support.

So I have this board for over a year now. Didn't do any OC or anything. It was working great. I loved the board but then my wife bumped into my desk and shook the mouse and all of a sudden, my computer turned on. She blamed it on me thinking I tried to scare her. So I ran a few more test and whatever I do when the computer is off, plugged in USB stick, hit a key on the keyboard or anything with the mouse, the computer turned on. This is really annoying me.

Call their support up. They had me going through troubleshoot for many days and at the end, they told me to send it back to them via UPS or Fedex. I sent it and got it back about a week and a half later. I didn't put the board in because I had no time to do that. I been using my old board which is MSI BigBang XPower II. Now I just thought I need to change because I am cleaning everything. Guess what? The board is doing the same thing!

The board and design is amazing but they fail! I trusted Asus for many years now. But for the past 2 years, I been having failed boards left and right. My previous board before going with socket 2011 was Asus socket 1366. That failed on me and sent out for repairs and still didn't work. Tired of waiting and got the exact same board and failed again.

Extraordinary construction and beautiful to look at! I was amazed when I lifted it out of the box: it's the heaviest motherboard I've ever seen due, most probably, to major heat sinks.
Be sure to buy only memory recommended on the ASUS web site (and in the User's Guide).
My one (minor) complaint: the interface for USB 3 for the case front panel has to be purchased separately.

UPDATE.
Had to drop it from 5-stars to 3-stars because two of the memory slots were DOA: disappointing

I've got many years building high-end systems, and chose this MB carefully after not building anything heavy for more than a decade. This would be fully fitted with 64Gb RAM (Kingston Fury) and used for engineering and NLE movies.
The only reason I give FOUR stars is because ASUS made the bad choice between engineering and fulfillment to sell this awesome, top drawer, top dollar MB that is stuffed with accessories and parts, WITHOUT SEALING THE BOX!
I bought THREE of these MB just to confirm the distributors weren't jerking me around selling me an "open box" item.
Background: I had a manufacturing company in China with 10,000 people working for me at one point, between 1996 and 2003. I know every aspect of concept to market, and it is insane for a company like ASUS to jeopardize the integrity of their products, their inspectors, their distributors; their warranty control; and their customers by failing to put a couple 2 cent permanent seals over the packaging tabs so everyone knows it is unopened since the factory.
I had to argue with two of the three distributors I bought from, who as middlemen, couldn't grasp the risk they were exposed to, and passing that "trust me" mentality on to the consumer. That's why distributors have a separate category of discount pricing called "open box" returns.
My final selection -- as with the other two, which were returned -- was complete. Everything so far is working fine, after some bugs with boot up was fixed by updating to the "0701" BIOS. But be forewarned: there's no way to be sure your toy hasn't been opened. So pick a reliable, established distributor, and get email confirmation from them BEFORE you buy, that it has NOT been opened or previously sold and returned. Because there's no simple way to be sure.
