Besides that everything works great. Plenty of ports for anything you need. Had integrated video if needed, but also has a port for a single graphics card. Plenty of sata2 ports, 2 classic PCI ports, USB headers to connect USB to your front panel, and even a PS/2 port in case you want to use an old keyboard or mouse. Also, the BIOS is already updated to the latest and it is very user friendly.
It was super easy to hook up. All of the cables leading to the front panel are clearly marked and easy to hook up. The only thing I would change about it is there isn't much room between the CPU and the RAM slots. My CPU's heatsink was kind of big (the stock one) so it made it hard to hook up ram to the first slot. I changed the heatsink though, which was admittedly pretty large, and now all of the ram slots are easily accessible. I don't know if this would be an issue for any other CPU heatsinks since I'm not familiar with most others, but something to consider.
Overall I am extremely happy with my purchase since it was the cheapest motherboard I could find that was AM3+, USB3, had PCIx16x, and has 4 ram slots to upgrade the ram to 32GB. The only thing I would have wanted is the Sata3, but I am easily fixing that with a PCI card for about $12 dollars.
The software shipped with this is not Windows 8 or 10 compatible even though the board is fully 8 and 10 compatible...so you will have to let windows load their default drivers for some of the devices then download from ASUS the correct drivers. One thing I find amazing about ASUS is their quality and their ability to stand by their warranty...so if you have to buy a board ASUS is the way to go....
Overall, however, this board is sturdy and a good buy. I built a budget gaming rig with it and I could not be happier.
If you're building a budget rig then you probably won't mind the fact that it's SATA II. The load and boot times are hard to notice and only someone with high end components and demanding programs will see timings affected.
I have not had any compatibility issues with the hardware/software I've put into my PC. Here are my specs for the PC I built with this board:
AMD FX6300
OCZ Trion 120gb SSD
WD Blue 1tb HDD
Zotac GTX 950
HyperX Fury 8gb DDR3 RAM
EVGA 500 watt 80+ Bronze PSU
Windows 10 Home
Asus DVD optical drive
Rosewill Ranger M mATX case
So, just a new mobo fixed the old HP. The only minor issue is this mobo does not control the speed of the chasis fan (the CPU fan is controlled properly). The chasis fan only runs at max speed. The cheap fan from HP was running at 2600 rpm and was very loud. I updated the fan to an Arctic F9, which has a lower max rpm and is much quieter. I may add a fan controller, but the new fan is now acceptable.
This was a good fix for the price. I have since upgraded the CPU to a FX 8320E, which works great on this mobo. I am now using this PC to capture and encode my old collection of VHS tapes that have no DVD equivalent. The eight cores and better speed on the fx are very noticeable over the phenom ii cpu.
