On the negative side, it does get hot regularly in laptop mode. In tablet mode it reduces CPU usage so not as hot. Because of this it also runs out of battery faster too. For me it ran out of battery in 6 hours of use. I am ok with that because I don't travel much so I can keep it connected to power.
Overall I am very happy to have this laptop.
The laptop is otherwise quite nice, good keyboard, beautiful display.
Note after owning for a while:
* I had some issues with the graphics driver --- the screen would flicker while the power was disconnected and the mouse was over windows for certain applications (I assume those that used some specific driver functionality). I resolved the issue by switching to the generic Intel driver, away from the HP-recommended variant. The issue was not originally present, and so it was likely a regression from an HP driver update.
* You must manually enable HDR (improves video quality for applications/video that supports it). You can just Google for how to do this; instructions I write here might become out of date.
* The fan can get pretty loud, and doesn't always seem terribly effective. Putting your laptop in "tent" mode when watching video seems to give the best airflow + cooling.
* I haven't tried to use the stylus much, but the latency is bad enough that it's hard to draw on (one of those times where even small amounts of latency makes a huge difference).
