MSI Master Overclocking Arena (MOA) 2013

Celebrating its 6th anniversary, MSI Master Overclocking Arena (MOA) is changing the overclocking game. Themed “NO LIMITS”, MSI has shaped the first extreme starting with the worldwide online qualifier on the world-class overclocking community website HWBOT.org on May 1, 2013.

The Qualifier competition is divided into two groups: Class A and Class B branched into AM, EMEA and APAC regions. Each group has different competition rules and benchmarks. Every overclocker can only chose one of group to participate in. The first round of the qualifier will end on May 31st after which one (or two) winners will go directly to the grand final and the top half (minimum 15) of the participants qualifiers will continue to the Semi-Finals. At the end of the Semi-Finals on July 31, the top 15 winners are qualified as MOA representative of the online competition. They have a chance to continue their journey to the MSI Master Overclocking Arena Grand Final, for free.

Qualifier Details

  • You can only compete in Class A or Class B

The top 50% (minimum 15 for Class A, minimum 10 for Class B) overclockers will be chosen in each group during the qualifier contest. These members may continue to submit scores in Semi-finals. The top 15 overclockers from different classes and regions will be invited to the MOA 2013 Grand Final. Only the highest ranked participant per country (for each round) will get a ticket to Grand Final. The maximum amount of participants from the same country in the Grand Final is 3: 1x Class A Qualifier, 1x Class A Semi-Final, 1x Class B).

Competition Details

  • Class A Qualifier Benchmarks: Super Pi 32M (25%), 3DMark Fire Strike Extreme (50%) and CineBench CPU (25%)
  • Class A Qualifier Hardware Limitations:

    • Any MSI motherboard
    • Any MSI Single GPU graphics card.
    • Single GPU.
    • NVIDIA GTX Titan not allowed.
    • Use 1 CPU. Server CPUs (Xeon, Opteron) not allowed.

  • Class A Semi-Final Benchmarks: TBD
  • Class A Semi-Final Hardware Limitations:

    • Any MSI "next generation Intel platform" motherboard
    • Any MSI Single GPU graphics card (including GTX Titan).
    • Single GPU.
    • Use 1 CPU. Server CPUs (Xeon, Opteron) not allowed.

  • Class B Qualifier Benchmarks: Super Pi 32M (25%), 3DMark11 Performance (50%) and CineBench CPU (25%)
  • Class B Qualifier Hardware Limitations:

    • Only use CPU in 3570K (or lower) or FX-8350 (or lower). No Socket LGA2011, LGA1366 and Intel Core i7 3770K CPUs.
    • Any MSI LGA1155 or AM3+ motherboard.
    • Any MSI GTX 650 Ti Boost(or lower) or HD7790(or lower) graphics card.
    • Single GPU.
    • Use 1 CPU. Server CPUs (Xeon, Opteron) not allowed.

  • Class B Semi-Final Benchmarks: TBD
  • Class B Semi-Final Hardware Limitations:

    • Only use CPU in 3570K (or lower) or FX-8350 (or lower). No Socket LGA2011, LGA1366 and Intel Core i7 3770K CPUs.

Here at HWBOT we try our best to deliver a fair and enjoyable playing field for all those who participate in the rankings and competition. To be able to provide this kind of service we have tried to design some submission and general rules to help remove any doubts about whether something is allowed or not. Based on continued experience these rules will be updated, expanded and completed as time goes by. Please check back for any updates.
